Coquet Island is a haven for puffins and several species of Tern, which include common Tern, Arctic tern and the very rare Roseat tern. These all nest in specially constructed boxes on the island, helping to encourage them to safely breed on returning. These are maintained by wardens prior to the birds arriving and then monitored to estimate the success of the years breeding stock.
The Island is an RSPB Sanctuary and a designated “Site of Special Scientific Interest” and is managed by society wardens during the peak breeding season.

We always recommend you prepare accordingly for your trip, don’t forget to include warm layers, waterproofs, suntan lotion, and of course—a camera as our trips are picture perfect! Our vessel is dog friendly providing the dog is kept on a lead at all times and we even have an onboard toilet for your convenience.
